The hunting and working instinct of the Catahoula are really one and the same. It can be difficult to explain how a breed can be both a hunting dog and a cattle dog, but I will do my best to clarify thi...

We try to gather old working bloodlines in our kennel.
Wager`s, Sandhill`s, Koon`s, Lee`s, Aden`s – just to name a few.
We believe in breeding a dog with a strong working and hunting instinct, a good nose on a track and the desire to “work” at a job, and to please their owner but not a dog whom is driven to excessive behavior – to be “on edge” all the time – in working mode constantly. This type of personality is unnecessary in any good working dog and makes that dog hard to live with.
We like our dogs strong & with a stabile foundation.Strong heads, chests and lean muscle structure and a balanced character is what we are going for.
They are not always the easiest breed of dog to live with and they are definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy challenge – a dog that can actually still think for itself and possesses the natural characteristics that made it irreplaceable to farm and rural families many decades ago; a dog that will protect and watch over your home and family; a dog that will make you laugh, either by it’s antics or quick thinking, then a Catahoula may be for you.
Some of our dogs already earned “Best of Breed” and Championtitles more than once. Said that – it`s not what matters the most to us. Their real accomplishment is their value supporting our everyday work and blending right in in our everyday life. That`s whats most important to us.
What`s a great working dog worth, if they make your life a misery. We thrive for balanced dogs, that are right on the job – but also a valuable member of their humans life.
We are a firm believer of socialising our young ones. You wont find one of our dogs in a kennel – they are all part of the family and thats the way they live.
Our puppies grow up right in the middle of it – and when old enough will join their pack to start learning valuable lessons for the rest of their lifes.
My girlfriend and I grew up with dogs, yet we learn new things every time from Tina and are amazed at how little is actually needs to educate our four-legged pal appropriately and effectively. Tina has advised us from the start, even from before the birth of Hunter, helping us choose the right puppy. Not only has she given us training from day one, but also the best advice regarding diet, vaccinations, and dog accessories. We can only thank Tina so much at this point and look forward to many more years of her mentoring and advice, from which a friendship has blossomed as well.
My entire experience with this breeder has been outstanding! I selected what I wanted a year in advance. Through the entire year I spoke with Tina about various topics regarding the planned litter, my current animals, shipping options, diet, training. ... and so much more. Every conversation was pleasant and Tina was more than happy to answer my billions of questions. She has been honest with me. She helped to make the entire process easy and strait forward. But the resulting litter is absolutely the tip of my experience, the most rewarding part of the experience. She was very diligent in sharing up to date photos, information on development and personalities. When my pup landed at the airport I knew right away that Tina's efforts really paid off! This 10 week old pup was confident, healthy, well socialized and housebroken! He is a very nice representation of the breed and showing great signs of a working dog already at 12 weeks. I am incredibly happy with this experience and hope to have dealings with this kennel again in the future! My deepest thanks to Tina, Barton, Lennox and Spitfire for this wonderful Catahoula leopard dog!
We have really been lucky with this dog, and we also have to thank our breeder Tina. They took lovingly care of all the puppies, and the little ones were closely monitored during their first weeks of life to see their personalities develop and due to their behavior to find the perfect puppy for everyone including us. Long before Spitfire was bred and pregnant, we already had quite close contact with Tina, so she could get a picture of us and our way of life. She really helped us choosing the right pups for us. From the day Spitfire was pregnant, we were always directly informed of all the news, so that we never had the feeling to miss anything, even living 650 km away. Even now that Jinx lives with us Tina does care about her. Size, weight, and welfare of the dog are asked regularly, and we also send regularly photos of Jinx so Tina can be sure that she is in good hands. Furthermore, we are more than particularly happy that Tina is still there for us and approachable for any questions and problems. We never feel that she is annoyed or doesn't have time for us to talk. This is important for first time Catahoula owners like us and also a very important reason why we chose this breeder.
